Education Achievements
Summer high school research internship program
This IGERT's support for a summer high school research internship program in which high achieving young students are put under the supervision of graduate trainees has provided for a unique mentoring experience that participants would not have otherwise been able to benefit from. SHARP mentors gain supervisory and project management experience that will apply broadly in future careers whether in academic, industrial, or governmental positions. The interns will be entering undergraduate STEM degree programs at excellent schools: three to Stanford; two each to Berkeley, Harvard, MIT, and Brown; plus Swarthmore, Johns Hopkins, and USC.
