Achievement

Our MEID-IGERT program is in its last year of operation and all extant Trainees have completed their structured coursework and are fully engaged in thesis research, more specialized learning in support of that research, or internships in support of post-graduation career development. These post-coursework educational and internship activities are supported by the MEID-IGERT program and represent added value of the IGERT educational experience in that most traditional/disciplinary educational programs do not support such experiences on a routine basis to their students. Our Trainees have access to support for these activities via the structure of our IGERT program. Trainees request support via an internal competitive application process where it is necessary to demonstrate an interdisciplinary component to the training experience, or a valid career-building internship experience in order to receive support from the program.
