Mouse intestinal microbiome study
Trainee Ellen Lark finished a preliminary study on the mouse intestinal microbiome which showed that the composition of the intestinal microbial community is different between the proximal and distal colon. These findings were presented the at an international Keystone Symposium titled "The Microbiome". The data from this study were also used as preliminary data in a grant proposal that was submitted to NIH to garner research and stipend support for Ms. Lark's continued work toward her PhD.
