IGERT grad establishes Computational Ecology Lab

Erin Landguth, 2010 IGERT graduate in Mathematical and Computational Ecology established the Computational Ecology Laboratory at the University of Montana after obtaining her PhD. She is actively involved in project coordination on multiple research grants and has received $525,499 across ten grants and projects in the last two years, supporting seven people, including computer science undergraduates, GIS analysts, and PhD students. She has produced 20 publications with 10 more in review. Her primary research deals with developing, applying and optimizing individual-based models that integrate environmental and biological processes for understanding population structure in complex temporal and spatial landscapes. Additionally, she co-developed and instructed Landscape Genetics: Developing Best Practices for Testing Landscape Effects on Gene Flow, an NCEAS Distributed Graduate Seminar.
