Research Achievements
Cycle time of thermoplastic parts
Trainee Eusebio Cabrera, also participated in a team that developed a new approach to decrease the cycle time of thermoplastic parts. This approach uses either activated carbon or tubular nanoclay as water carriers. The plastic pellets are pressurized with water previous to molding. Cycle time reductions of up to 20 % have been obtained.
