Powering remote sensor networks
IGERT Trainee Conrad Donovan has designed a method of remotely powering sensor networks using sediment from water beds. The design has successfully powered a 2.5W remote sensor and has been tested using a creek bed that runs next to the university campus. Conrad's internship consisted of taking a one-semester sabbatical from his PhD program to start his own business that builds on his dissertation topic. His business is doing well and Conrad will return to WSU to defend his dissertation in the Summer of 2012.
