Achievement

We have developed and taught three interdisciplinary courses for the IGERT trainees. During the fall semester, the social science students took a course taught by scientists and engineers where they studied basic physical hydrology and systems engineering principles. The engineering students took a specialized course in water policy and economics taught by Economics and Political Science faculty. All of the students then took a synthesis course in the spring that integrated water science and water policy with diplomacy. This synthesis capstone course included a negotiation simulation facilitated by a world renowned conflict resolution specialist.
