Label-free detection assay capable of resolving cell-cell signaling interactions
Our trainees and faculty co-advisors have demonstrated the first label-free detection assay capable of resolving cell-cell signaling interactions. These interactions are key to immunomodulatory events that may dictate the success or failure of the immune system to detect and destroy nascent tumors. In comparison to viable cell recognition, it was found that the peak wavelength value (PWV) shift on photonic crystal (PC) biosensors was increased for apoptotic cell recognition by an epithelial cell line.
