Achievement

We implemented our IGERT seminar for the fifth full year. Each year we have used the same basic model but have adapted to address new issues and the needs and interests across four cohorts. This year we incorporated more sessions on professionalization, with sessions on writing grants, publishing, and applying for jobs. Sessions were led by both natural and social scientists. Students presenting in IGERT-sponsored symposiums at professional conferences also had the chance to practice their presentations in seminar.
