Achievement

In fall 2011, IGERT trainees and affiliates joined an NSF-funded research study by Prof. Lisa McNair at Virginia Tech University. The "Portfolio to Professoriate" project asks students to build personal websites that describe their progress toward becoming thoughtful researchers, lifelong learners, accomplished teachers, professional engineers, and good citizens. Students receive prompts for blogging, upload "artifacts" that represent accomplishments, and reflect on their graduate school experience.
