Mechanics of organic photovoltaics
Roy Murray, IGERT Trainee, Ph.D. Candidate Advisors: Dr. S. Ismat Shah
To better understand the mechanics of organic photovoltaics, an annealing study was performed. Our work focuses on the well characterized P3HT:PCBM bulk heterojunction device. It is well known that upon annealing, the performance of these devices improves. This improvement is attributed to P3HT crystallization and P3HT and PCBM phase separation. To better characterize this improvement electrically, a simple lumped circuit model was used. This work has resulted in three presentations in international conferences, and the submission of three refereed papers for publication.
