Office of Emerging Frontiers in Research and Innovation grant
Co-PI Dacheng Ren (Biomedical and Chemical Engineering - BMCE), with colleagues and IGERT participants Rebecca Bader (BMCE), Yan-Yeung Luk (chemistry), R. “Suresh” Sureshkumar (BMCE) and Ramesh Raina (biology), has been awarded a $2 million EFRI (Office of Emerging Frontiers in Research and Innovation) grant by the National Science Foundation (NSF) to conduct research on deciphering and controlling the signaling processes in bacterial multicellular systems and bacteria-host interactions. This multidisciplinary project is closely tied to one of the themes of the Soft Interfaces IGERT Program and will provide ample opportunities for interdisciplinary research for IGERT Associates. It also serves to cement some of the collaborations initiated under the IGERT umbrella.
