Trainee Achievements
2011 UC Entrepreneurship Academy
Trainee Erik Porse participated in the Fall 2011 UC Entrepreneurship Academy, organized by the UC Davis Center for Entrepreneurship. The one-week workshop provides the tools to scientists and engineers that can move research out of the lab and into the world. The academy is taught by venture capitalists, entrepreneurs, university faculty, industry executives and angel investors who serve as mentors and guest speakers, providing participants with the knowledge and networks needed to take the next steps toward moving research out of the lab and into the world. Porse participated in a team that developed a concept for a non-profit that provides autism treatment though innovative and affordable, theater-based interventions. The concept was selected to subsequently present to the UC Davis Angels on Campus program.
