Using lasers to control molecules in solvents
Benjamin Ashwell and the T. Seideman group, are interested in using lasers to coherently control the torsional dynamics of molecules in solvents. The model has allowed the group to propose a molecule ideal for this purpose, as well as identify ideal laser intensities, pulse shapes, and temperatures to make this technique experimentally viable.
