Achievement

Of the three goals listed in Achievment 1, the most demanding was the construction the cold atom trapping apparatus, which will be used as a platform to do Bose condensation and other cold atom experiments in the remaining year of our IGERRT, as well as for demonstrating the phenomena to future students. This project involves the collaboration of three IGERT students David Tabor, Jon Trossman and May Kim (along with a post doc funded by the University) who are jointly advised by Ketterson, Odom and Shahriar. Trapping Rb atoms was demonstrated this year.
