Trainee accepts position as postdoc at UC Berkeley
Sam Evans, a member of the first IGERT cohort, has accepted a position as a postdoctoral scholar at the Energy Bioscience Institute at the University of California, Berkeley. As part of a project with Dr. Matthew Potts in the Department of Environmental Science, Policy, and Management, he will develop a management tool for multi-use Miscanthus production landscapes. The project will integrate economic and ecological theory to develop spatiotemporal production functions for biodiversity and ecosystem services in potential areas of Miscanthus expansion. This position was one of three offered to Sam, who was told numerous times during interviews that his work with the IGERT program and interdisciplinary nature of his project made him a highly attractive candidate.
