Achievement

We continued to offer our core curriculum throughout this year, which consists of: Advanced Parameterization for Scientists and Engineering, Downscaling and Uncertainty, the MCS Colloquium, Advanced Communication for Science and Engineering, and an upscaling elective. 4 out of 5 of these classes were originated entirely as part of this IGERT, and they have been very successful at attracting non-IGERT Trainees to enroll. There is broad agreement among the students and the faculty that these new courses have brought significant value to our entire population of graduate students, not just the IGERT Trainees. We are working on getting formal approval for a Ph.D. area of concentration in Multi-scale Modeling that will be available to all JHU Ph.D. students and will consist of these IGERT core courses.
