Novel interface adds cues to game controller
IGERT Trainee Ashley Guinan has presented research at the IEEE Haptics Symposium showing a novel human interface device which adds skin stretch cues to a game controller to provide additional feedback during games and other 3D tasks. Her research showed that we can communicate direction cues bi-manually and that more ergonomic angled hand grips do not have a statistical effect the perception on these direction cues. This work was widely reported on in dozens of media outlets and online technology websites.
