Achievement

LEAP Fellow, Kelly Granberg, was awarded a scholarship by the University of Buffalo NSF IGERT that allowed her to attend the Vespucci Initiative Summer Institute in Florence, Italy June 17-20, 2008. The interdisciplinary program included world-renown Geographic Information (GI) Science experts and participants ranged from scientists to philosophers. The workshop culminated in a competitive team project/presentation of a virtual globe vision. She plans to incorporate approaches and ideas from this workshop into her own research.
