Achievement

In May 2012, trainee Tasha Zephirin will be resuming work on two projects with the Shalaev Group at the BIRCK Nanotechnology Center at Purdue University that started towards the end of Summer 2011. Her first project is centered around developing an online tutorial for an existing nanoHUB tool (named PhotonicsCL). This requires an understanding of the technical aspects of the tool and Tasha will also incorporate concepts from her Engineering Education background and education literature in the development of the tutorial. nanoHUB.org can provide information to help gauge the effectiveness of the tutorial in terms of numbers of users or other factors and as the nanoHUB tools, lectures, tutorials and other content is assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), the tutorial can be cited in subsequent journal publications or in conference presentations.
