Research Achievements
Drug delivery for lung cancer treatment
The research project of Amber McBride, an INCBN IGERT Trainee pursuing a PhD degree in Nanoscience and Microsystems, is very interdisciplinary as it joins nanotechnology with drug delivery for lung cancer treatment. Amber has collaborated with the UNM Earth and Planetary Science department to quantify the amount of iron in her drug delivery system. She is also collaborating closely with the UNM College of Pharmacy to quantify the amount of drug loading in the microparticles. Without those interdisciplinary interactions, her research goals would not have been accomplished.
