Methods to synthesize and characterize block copolymer/enzyme films
IGERT student Rachael Ferebee has focused on methods to synthesize and characterize block copolymer/enzyme films. She has also been trained in the use of several important nanomaterial characterization techniques including Transmission Electron Microscopy, Small Angle X-ray Scattering, Dynamic Light Scattering, and Differential Scanning Calorimetry. With respect to the analysis of TEM results, she has developed a code in MATLAB to perform digital image analysis on large arrays of micrographs to identify grain boundaries and dispersion of particles in the samples. These techniques and image processing code will find broad utility across the IGERT students and affiliates, and will help to improve their research capabilities.
