Core course revised to be team-taught
The ERIE-IGERT educational program is built around three core courses. Based on student feedback, the second of the two classes (Practices in Ecological Restoration) was completely revised to more fully implement a team-teaching model. Six instructors contributed to the class, three of whom with no previous IGERT teaching experience. The topics include introductory material related to restoration goals, adaptive management, and ecological systems modeling, followed by modules dealing with the restoration of lake, river, groundwater, wetland, and terrestrial systems. Student feedback was extremely positive and the structure and syllabus will be retained for next year.
