Trainee Achievements
Trainee submits manuscript from Problems in Genomics course
David Andrew, a trainee in the Neuroscience department, recently defended his dissertation. He received three years of IGERT funding. David (with three other IGERT trainees) recently submitted a manuscript on the research that culminated from the "Problems in Genomics" Course. David was the first author on this paper, but the research was completely unrelated to his dissertation work. In addition to completing this manuscript and finishing his Ph.D. during this reporting period, David has also been invited to give a talk at two conferences, has a publication in press, and has received several awards. As a senior student, he consistently shows leadership skills by contributing to discussions and engaging students with questions about their research. David has received a NIH Postdoctoral Excellence in Research and Teaching (PERT) fellowship.
