Trainees work in interdisciplinary groups for course
Our "Problems in Genomics" course allows trainees to work in interdisciplinary groups to identify and solve a research problem. These findings are then published in a multi-authored paper. Enrollment in this course is required, both for new trainees and for more senior trainees. The senior trainees are encouraged to take leadership roles and mentor the new trainees. Therefore, trainees entering our program benefit from the guidance of the senior trainees, and later act as mentors themselves.
