Achievement

O.T. Thakadu, an IGERT associate from Botswana was recently engaged by the Southern Africa Community Based Natural Resource Management (CBNRM) Forum made up of representatives from Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Namibia, Malawi, Tanzania, and Mozambique to develop the Regional Forum communication strategy. He was selected from a number of bidders mainly because of his qualifications as having studied in the USA and his dissertation research while an IGERT associate which stressed science communication. In addition to the forum he also trained representatives from the region on developing communication strategies for the National CBNRM forums.
