Human performance and learning for visuomotor tracking tasks
IGERT Trainee Jamilah Abdur-Rahim, a Mechanical Engineer, has three co-advisors: Prof. Grafton (Psychology), Prof. Doyle (Chemical Engineering), and Prof. Petzold (Mechanical Engineering). Her work uses methods from control theory to explore human performance and learning for visuomotor tracking tasks. Her work makes use of input pseudo-random binary signals (PRBS) with varying frequency and complexity. She has demonstrated an experimental approach that allows for construction of a general subspace identification model that can predict human performance and learning.
