Achievement

By organizing seminars, IGERT Trainees learn to seek out and make contact with speakers from across the campus whos work is relevant to the seminar topic. IGERT trainee Michael Lawson organized the Systems Biology Seminar Series for the 2011-2012 school year. Presentations included "Mating type determination in Tetrahymena thermophila: A digital, multi-state developmental switch that relies on developmentally-programmed somatic DNA rearrangement" by Professor Eduardo Orias and "Rise of the Microbes" by Professor Michael Mahan.
