New 'Experimental Syntax and Semantics' course
A new graduate course on Experimental Syntax and Semantics was developed by Profs. Akira Omaki (psycholinguistics) and Kyle Rawlins (formal semantics). It was extremely useful for the majority of theoretical linguistics students, who have wanted to do experimental work but didn't know how to. For example, trainees Erin Zaroukian and Charley Beller, specializing in formal semantics, became active users of Amazon Mechanical Turk for on-line syntactic and semantic judgment data collection. The course was valuable for trainees ranging from the most junior to the most senior.
