Trainee helps develop field research in Dominica
Former IPEM trainee Ben Chabot-Hanowell helped gather survey data on social dominance structure, remittance transfers, self-reported health, and wealth from ~240 individuals from ~90 households in a rural village in the Commonwealth of Dominica. He helped develop survey instruments for dissertation field research to collect data on households' political economy, socioeconomic status, health, and remittances. Finally, he helped develop a hierarchical Bayesian model for simultaneous inference of social dominance structure and informant accuracy from these reports which we hope, and presume, will be used by other researchers.
