Devices give directional cues through skin stretch actuation
IGERT Trainee Ashley Guinan has researched devices which give directional cues to a user through skin stretch actuation. This work has been presented at several conferences and garnered substantial coverage in media outlets for the general public, gamers, and virtual reality. Such devices are useful in making games more immersive, in providing feedback during rehabilitation exercises, and in providing directional cues without visual distraction, such as during driving.
