Trainee is first Native American female to receive PhD
IGERT trainee Shannon Seneca became the first Native American female to receive a doctorate from the University at Buffalo School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (conferred June 1, 2012). She is now employed by the Seneca Nation of Indians, focused on the development of an environmental restoration component of the rapidly expanding Seneca Construction Management Corporation.
