Research Achievements
How plants respond to external signals
An important theme within laboratories participating in the IGERT program is understanding how plants respond to external signals including stress signals and the associated internal hormonal signals. For these analyses new approaches are being developed by IGERT students, including advanced chemical analysis techniques of metabolites, small molecules and hormone signaling mechanisms. This research has led to important published and unpublished advances by our IGERT students, including research of Tim Jobe (Plant J. 2012), Daniel Barrera (PNAS 2013), Benjamin Cole (Plant J. 2011) and Katie Greenham (Current Biol. 2011).
