Achievement

We offered a revised mathematical modeling workshop associated with the IGERT program. The workshop was offered as a 2 credit course and began with basic principles for the mathematical analysis of reservoir models and boundary value problems. We spent considerable time on hands on skill development with MATLAB to develop numerical solutions to "classic" problems. The mix of elementary theory and application seems to be effective for graduate students who need to "get up to speed" with basic numerical methods.
