Achievement

Three of our IGERT Fellows have been collaborating with a small local company (Brain Actuated Technologies, Inc) to evaluate and develop technology for hands free control of computers (Cyberlink). The technology allows a person to accomplish standard mouse and keyboard functions (pointing and clicking) by altering electrical potentials picked up from sensors on the forehead. This collaboration has resulted in three masters theses and this team won the Brightest Idea Award at the 2009 National Center for Technology Innovation. A paper describing research from this collaboration is currently being prepared for submission to a journal.
