Trainee introduces gifted students in grades 6 to 10 to organic solar cells
IGERT Trainee Chris Petoukhoff (Materials Science and Engineering, Rutgers) developed a lecture and laboratory entitled, ‘Introduction to Organic Solar Cells’ for the HEROES (Higher Education, Resources, and Opportunities for Exceptional Scholars) Conference held on January 19-20, 2013 at Rutgers University. This activity included creating a lecture and laboratory on organic solar cells and assisting students in fabricating and characterizing dye sensitized solar cells. The HEROES Conference, sponsored by Rutgers’ Division of Continuing Studies, is open to profoundly gifted students in grades 6 to 10. The two-day event includes labs, workshops and classes taught by more than 50 volunteer Rutgers faculty, staff, alumni and students.
