Papers published on learning and diversity

My first achievement is the completion and publication of two papers related to learning and diversity. These papers were written with IGERT student Russell Golman. These papers describe how different learning rules produce different basins of attraction. There has been a lot of previous research showing that stability properties do not depend on learning rules. Our results show that basins of attraction can depend a great deal on how people learn. These papers show that we cannot just look at equilibria - that if we want to know the effect of an economic or political institution, then we need to understand learning dynamics. In particular, we need to know if the society is more individualistic or more communal in how they learn. Both papers have been accepted for publication.
