Finite-element-method based traction force microscopy
Associate, Xin Tang, has developed a finite-element-method based traction force microscopy to visualize the mechanical force that living cells applied on hydrogel substrates as a function of culture time. Using this technique, this trainee has quantitatively studied how living cells conduct mechanical feedback loops with their substrates, which result in the in vitro metastasis.
