Achievement

In February 2012, trainees selected science and engineering activities from the NISE Network for K-12 students that incorporated nanotechnology content. Trainees then taught these lessons to 4th and 5th graders in an elementary school serving primarily African-American students. These elementary students then taught the lessons to peers at the University of Illinois Engineering Open House in March. Students reported increased interest in science as a result of the activity.
