Achievement

Trainee Erik Huber focused on geological storage of CO2. He examined the behavior of a reservoir if one uses pulsed injections of CO2 followed by injections of the brine, a strategy that might reduce the time needed for the CO2 and the brine to dissolve. Huber developed his own numerical models of this system, and then compared outcomes of those numerical models to simulations generated with the industry-standard TOUGH2 software.
