Trainees introduced to experts in their field
Our IGERT program allows us to provide professional development opportunities to our trainees and affiliates by introducing them to recognized experts in their field. These experts span academia, government labs, and industry. During visits they engage in one or more activities, including: (1) visits to our research labs with student presentations, (2) roundtable discussions with students, (3) seminars delivered to our students, and (4) presentations by IGERT students with feedback from visitors. During the past year our IGERT students have interacted with the following visitors, including members of our External Advisory Board: Dr. James Axley (Yale U.), Dr. Wu Chen (Dow Chemical), Dr. Ashok Gadgil (LBNL), Dr. Cynthia Howard Reed (NIST), Dr. Glenn Morrison (Missouri U. of Science & Technology), Dr. William Nazaroff (UC Berkeley), Dr. Linda Sheldon (USEPA/NERL), Dr. Jack Spengler (Harvard U.), Dr. Michael Strommen (3M), Dr. Ray Wells (NIOSH), and Dr. Charles Weschler (Rutgers U).
