Trainee maps local biomass to assist with university's renewable energy goal
As an intern with the University of Iowa Office of Sustainability, trainee Chandler Minner applied her skills in GIS to locating and mapping local biomass with potential to assist in the university's goal of deriving 40% of its energy from renewable sources by 2020. In addition to providing this information to the Sustainability Office, Minner presented it in poster form at the first annual GEEMaP research workshop in July 2012 and at the Iowa State Fair in August 2012.
