Sustainable Cities Research Coordination Network workshop
IGERT Director Patricia Culligan and IGERT Trainee Rishee Jain attended the inaugural Sustainable Cities Research Coordination Network (RCN) (see: http://www.rcnsustainablecities.com/index.php?pageID=1) workshop in August 2013. The goal of the Sustainable Cities RCN is to develop a network of researchers and practitioners who will coordinate their work on the overarching thematic topic of Sustainable Cities, with a focus on reducing energy use, carbon emissions, and mitigating climate-risks to water supply and public health in cities. Culligan and Jain presented research from the IGERT related to stormwater management and urban energy conservation at the workshop. Culligan is now collaborating with a sub-group of RCN affiliated faculty to develop interdisciplinary materials and resources related to urban infrastructure challenges.
