Fellow applies data curation concepts to work in chemical engineering
Joseph Ferrar, Chemical Engineering and Open Data IGERT fellow, has introduced concepts of data standards and metadata into Mike Solomon's chemical engineering work on confocal microscopy from the Data Curation course. He learned the importance of interoperability, metadata, data standards, ontologies and (more broadly) how essential data curation is to ensuring research progress in the data rich environment in which he works.
