Achievement

Our IGERT program requires all trainees to take a one-semester Leadership Course. This course is externally sponsored by donors who want to see the students excel in the future careers as leaders. The course teaches time management, ethics, team building for projects, and communication skills. Many of the students are initially reluctant to take a class that is outside their discipline and seems to offer "common sense rules". However, after finishing the course the students uniformly cite this as the class in which they benefited the most and state that it helped shape their graduate experience.
