Achievement

While this has been a recurring theme of our reports, our students' second year collaborative project continues to provide exceptional added value to their graduate careers. In these projects, students learn how to: 1) develop a project from scratch, 2) work as a team, 3) create projects that span multiple disciplines, 4) write the project up for publication, 5) disseminate their results to stakeholder groups by 6) choosing, organizing and inviting participants to a workshop centered around the results of their project. These workshops always include multiple stakeholders, typically agency reps, policymakers, NGO's, citizens and academics. In many cases, various stakeholders have followed up from workshops/project results, asking students to contribute to additional decison-making activities.
