Achievement

Partnerships fostered by the IGERT program have led to unique training opportunities for students. Students attended a new training program at the US Army Corps of Engineers Risk Management Center on the current state of understanding about internal erosion in dams and levees. Students interacted with experts in the field in a intensive week long training addressing mechanisms for the failure mode, case studies, and relation to risk assessment strategies. The IGERT continues to reach out to industry and public sector contacts to encourage connections and knowledge transfer.
