Trainees help plan and host symposium
We hosted the fourth in our series of outstanding 1/2 day symposia on Feb. 28 of this year. Speakers included world-class computational neuroscientists William Bialek, Larry Abbott and Fred Wolf, as well as experimental neuroscientist Gyorgy Buzsaki. The topic of the symposium, distributed computation through neural dynamics, exemplified our program's focus on emergent functions of neural systems. Over 200 participants attending the 1/2 day symposium. Trainees worked with faculty organizer Ganguli to select the theme of the workshop and the speakers, and had extensive opportunities to interact with the speakers during their time on campus.
