New web site: Learning to do Historial Research
Trainee Abigail Popp, a geography PhD candidate from the first CHANGE cohort, participated in an interdisciplinary seminar in Environmental History at UW-Madison during the Fall 2008 semester. The weekly seminar resulted in an extensive web site on "Learning to do Historical Research." Abby co-authored pages on "Research Questions," and "Quantitative Evidence," but even more importantly participated in the broadly collaborative effort to produce an exceptional work of joint scholarship and training for prospective environmental historians. The website can be viewed at: http://www.williamcronon.net/researching/index.htm. The process of developing the web site (which incorporated many of the techniques and approaches Abby learned in the CHANGE program) is described at: http://www.williamcronon.net/researching/website.htm.
