Trainee Achievements
Trainee to complete research experience at site in the Venice Lagoon
IGERT Trainee, Matthew Ross' involvement with the WISeNet IGERT has enabled him to establish interdisciplinary collaborations with both faculty and students at Duke and in Venice, Italy. Due to his involvement with the IGERT, he is now conducting research in collaboration with Drs. Marco Marani and Sonia Silvestri, whose research interests involve remote sensing and ecohydrology. During the summer of 2013, Matt will conduct research to complete a WISeNet research experience at our international experiment site in the Venice Lagoon where he will also be working with our international collaborator, Dr. Stefano Lanzoni. Matt is trained as a biogeochemist, but will be working with geomorphologists, hydrologists, and engineers to characterize his study sites, build a statistical model, and construct a novel GHG sensor. To build the GHG sensor, Matt will work with engineering students and IGERT Trainees, Itay Cnaan-On and Patrick Wang who he met through the WISeNet IGERT.
